Vostro 3550 with OCZ SSD causing screen backlight to fail - Dell
Jun 21, 2012 · I have a very strange issue here whereby the backlight for the screen on my Vostro 3550 laptop turns off when I have an OCZ Agility 3 SSD installed. If I remove the SSD and install a regular hard drive, the problem goes away. I have tried the same SSD on two identical Vostro 3550s, and it causes the same issue on both laptops.

dell studio 1558 with ssd
Jan 16, 2013 · I installed a ocz ssd drive into a studio 1558 and the drive won't show up in the bios. When (advanced) sata operations "AHCI" is selected the system runs really slow and locks up. I tired changing to ATA and the system doesn't seam to lock up in the bios but the drive still doesn't appear. I also tried updating to the latest firmware also

Jun 8, 2019 · Unless you're having a particular issue with your SSD that the firmware fixes, I wouldn't worry about it. AHCI or RAID should not make any difference, I say this knowing that Samsung released their firmware updates through there Magician program which cannot see through a RAID Driver and you have to be in AHCI mode.

Jun 5, 2018 · If there's an SSD in the main drive bay (either 2.5" or M.2) both SSD and PCIe/NVMe drives work in the WWAN slot. If you fit two PCIe/NVMe drives the BIOS only sees the drive in the WWAN slot. A 2.5" SSD drive comes up a Primary Hard Drive in the BIOS. An M.2 SSD in the main bay comes up as M.2 SATA in the BIOS.
