Feb 25, 2022 · Nos vamos seems to be derived from irse whereas vamos is derived from ir, and hence nos vamos means we leave whereas vamos means we go. The "tell" (for me) is the "reflexive modifier", i.e. the "se" in irse and the "nos" in nos vamos, which establishes/enforces the relationship between the two.

The correct expression is "nos vamos" or "nos vayamos". Mexican Spanish is somewhat peculiar in that, in addition to creating new words or creating new meanings for existing words, as most cultures do, Mexicans seem to like inventing new grammatical forms that sound very Spanish even though they are not actually correct.

Jun 29, 2019 · It's just idiomatic (arbitrary) and doesn't affect the meaning. Both forms, El fin de semana vamos al campo and El fin de semana nos vamos al campo are equivalent. Usage note: Which one to use depends on taste, local use, level of politeness, etc. If you are unsure, I'd suggest to pick the easiest and most universal one (i.e., without the pronoun).
