
OL501 - Slow Cooking function doesn’t seem to work well?
Dec 2, 2022 · We purchased the OL501 Ninja Foodi over the summer after our old Ninja slow cooker wasn’t heating properly anymore and we were looking to upgrade our pressure cooker. Overall, we love the air fryer and steam and crisp functions, and have had no issues with the pressure cooking.
Anyone use this Ninja slow cooker from Costco? Might pick one up

Apr 3, 2024 · So the answer is sort of. It’s bad if you want to slow cook low for 6-8 hours. It’s going to take more like 10. What I’ve done is use slow cook high for 1-2 hours then switch to low. You could also use braise or use a higher temp sous vide in place of the slow cook low.

Jan 18, 2023 · I'm using the slow cooker function for the first time for chili. I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't heat up and the display kept reading "LID." I had to come to this link to find out I need to use the pressure lid on vent. I'm not finding anything in the documentation I received about using pressure lid for slow cook. ARGGGGH.....

Dec 27, 2020 · Use the pressure cooker setting to speed up cooking. It's kinda the best thing about a pressure cooker, that you can essentially make an 8-10 hour slow cooker meal in a fraction of the time. I've used the straight slow cooker setting a few times for soups and whatnot, but I've never found it underpowered in my Foodi Compact.

Girlfriend and I bought this about 2 weeks ago. As the cook of the house I love it. The slow cooking function works like a normal slow cooker obviously but the versatility of all the other functions is a game changer. I’ve made a beef stew, beef and broccoli, japanese pan noodles, bratwurst’s, baked potatoes.

If you like to cook meats it comes with a thermometer so you can set your internal temp and walk away and it's done exactly how you want it with zero chance of overcooking, game changer. But it is what you are looking for, can slow cook and can air fry. The instant pot duo plus 60 you have is great.

Dec 23, 2021 · I used mine twice this week for the slow cooker function. Made soup and chicken and veggies for meal prepping. I left the vent sealed both times. Husband was impressed with each so I think it was okay.

My only mild complaint is the low setting takes longer than I was used to (every bit of 10 hours to get a big piece of meat to 195-200). I started to turn it to high on slow cooker setting for the final few hours and that helped.
