Mar 27, 2025 · Nickelodeon was named after old-timey theatres called Nickelodeons. These theatres costed 5 cents (a nickel) to enter. These logos were all based on the iconic idents for which Nickelodeon was known throughout most of the 1980s. Said idents were produced by Fred/Alan Inc, who were known for sister channel MTV 's idents at the time.
