BCG - nickel boron vs black nitride - AR15.COM
Jan 28, 2014 · If I had a choice between two identical carriers, with one being "nitride" treated, and the other finished with NiB, I would have no issue at all going with the nitride. For example, my JP low-mass carrier is QPQ treated, which is a form of nitrocarburized (nitride) finish.
Toolcraft Nib BCG vs PSA with pics > AR Discussions - AR15.COM
Oct 29, 2017 · I have been very happy with my PSA NiB BCG. I bought 2 and sold 1, both looked great. The 1 I kept has been in my SHTF rifle, its the smoothest cycling AR I have ever shot. Bolts and small parts are subject to change with cost and supply. My PSA NiB BCGs had the same coating on everthing but the firing pin and cotter pin.
Bravo Company or Fail Zero NiB BCG? - AR15.COM
Oct 25, 2016 · The Toolcraft BCG's (phosphate) are just as good and $60.00 cheaper if looking at phosphate BCG's.. I would even check out the BCG's available from AIM. As far as coated BCG's, there are differing opinions all over the board on that one - it seems to be a love/hate thing.

Who has the better NIB BCG, AIM or PSA? - AR15.COM
Apr 7, 2016 · On someone's question about current Fail Zero NiB BCG's, I have one new from last Christmas in one of my favorite AR's, and it has been totally reliable and shows no signs of problems or even discoloration that some have reported about some NiB BCG's in general.
WMD NiB-X bcg: My initial opinion... - AR15.COM
Jun 9, 2012 · I'm sure a lot of you guys have heard about NiB bcgs getting hot and sticking into the upper after a range outing. Obviously this is caused because the bcg is "bigger" than it should be because of the coating. WMD build their bcgs to their own specs allowing them to add .5 mil of NiB-X coating so that the bcg stays the correct size.
NiB-X coated WMD BCG review. It works - AR15.COM
Oct 20, 2013 · That's awesome. I've got a Fail Zero NiB bcg in my work rifle. My reason for getting it was the fact that my rifle can sit for extended periods without maintenance. I wanted/needed something that would work 100% at a second's notice. I recently got back from a week long class where we fired about 1500 rounds.
AIM Surplus BCG good to go? > AR Discussions - AR15.COM
Jul 8, 2018 · I have a NiB in one of my 5.56 rifles and a lightweight nitride in a .300bo pistol. They have a ton of options & free shipping. I also run an AIM Surplus 7.62x39 BCG which is harder on bolts, no issues.
Fail Zero Bcg reviews > AR Discussions - AR15.COM
Mar 4, 2017 · The key is XO Technology. All Nickle Boron coatings are NOT the same. Even from the same company. For example, Aim Surplus, sells some NiB BCGs that are NiB but not XO and others that are XO. Fail Zero uses XO Technology NiB which appears slicker and seems more durable. The early LWRC BCGs were XO but some of the newer ones I've seen are not.
Bolt carrier group finish. Poll. Phosphate, chrome, NiB, TiN, DLC? > …
Sep 14, 2019 · You can tell that most of ARFCOM have never used a DLC BCG. I have phosphate, NiB, DLC, and one in LifeCoat. There is zero comparison. DLC is the obvious king. Extremely slick (four times slicker than Teflon), and essentially zero wear. Mine looks brand new despite thousands of rounds. NiB is nice, but it doesn’t hold a candle to DLC.
