Jun 7, 2024 · Amazon Games has unveiled a spiritual sequel to New World which is set to replace it, taking the game in a brand new co-op ARPG direction.

Not reaching the max level/ profession kills non-DLC players' interest in returning. New World needs to add a substitute for these features and then move them to the base game.

It was originally supposed to be an open world sandbox PvP focused game, but it didn't. The team behind the original concept got replaced, I think around 2018, and ever since then New World lost it's true cause. They locked the PvP behind toggle, fucked up the combat system, and tried to push New World towards the Themepark PvE area.

May 14, 2024 · As an avid MMORPG gamer and content creator, I can definitively say New World is far from dead looking at all the data. While the hype of its launch peak has cooled, New World has maintained a remarkably stable core playerbase between 50,000 to 100,000 concurrent players and shows no signs of fading away in 2025.
