February 12, 2015 (by Lieven Dewitte) - With an all-time high of seven dogfight victories under its wings and one nuclear reactor bombing, Israel Air Force F-16A Netz No. 107 is being retired and will go on display in the IAF Museum at the Hatzerim air base in the Negev.

The Israeli Air Force F-16A Fighting Falcon Netz 107 is a legendary jet fighter with combat record unmatched by any other F-16 jet warplane in the entire world: F-16 Netz 107 bombed and destroyed the Iraqi nuclear reactor in 1981, and in 1982 it shot down 7 enemy fighter jets (one was a joint interception with another Israeli fighter).

The #107 was in service with the "First Jet Squadron" at the time of the attack. The green triangle in the nose shows for it. #107 is the world’s highest scoring F-16.

Netz 107 was the first F-16 to touch Israeli soil when it landed on 2 July 1980 at Ramat David Airbase. On 7 June 1981 Netz 107 took part in Operation Opera, piloted by Amos Yadlin, and was the second F-16 to strike the Osirak nuclear reactor after wing leader Zeev Raz.
