Dec 3, 2003 · If you ever plan to use your TV speakers simply hook up a set of RCA (red and white) cables from your cable box to the TV as well. As for the video portion....well that also depends. I have Component cables hooked up from cable box to TV-1 for the HDTV feed and S-video hooked up from the cable box to the TV-2 for standard video feed.

Feb 12, 2012 · You will need one HDMI cable, one component cable and one optical cable. And I would still go into the Dish receivers setup menu and check the audio output and the video output. You will get Dolby Digital 5.1 and 1080i resolution from the Dish HD receiver with this setup if you make the correct selections in the audio and video setup menu's.

Mar 11, 2003 · According to code, you can't have low and high voltage in the same box, unless there is a seperator between them. As for just running the lines, I would not put them through the same hole in a stud or something. You probably won't have interference on speaker lines, but I would not take the chance.

I just goofed around with these setting on my replacement box (a DCT-6412-III) and, on my receiver connected via optical, zero effect. On my TV via analog, I could hear an effect except for the mono/stereo/matrix choice, but I didn't try too hard.
