Did Ethan Phillips ever object to how Neelix was written?
Jan 21, 2018 · When VOY was on, Neelix and Kes were my least favorite elements of the show. Kes-focused and Neelix-focused episodes were a chore. Then there were the Kes/Neelix-focused episodes that were a real struggle. He was just always kind of annoying to me and the way he would bug Tuvok was particularly grating.
Why is Neelix so obnoxious - The Trek BBS
Dec 16, 2017 · Everybody loved Neelix (even Tuvok, even if the Vulcan hid his feeling well) and he repayed them well in return (the scene when everyone was present to salute him a last time was very revealing). But yes, he was maybe a little too cheerful, I freely admit this point but he was precisely a perfect balance with Tuvok and the Doctor, I think.
Why did they have neelix leave? - The Trek BBS
May 20, 2009 · Neelix should have stayed. It was stupid to dump him with only three episodes left and the whole plot in "Homestead" was ridiculous (no, I haven't watched the episode but I know what happened). Neelix should have stayed, then he wold have been available for further adventures in books or possible movies.
Anyone here who likes Neelix? - The Trek BBS
Sep 7, 2015 · Neelix desperately tried to "fit in". Obviously he did know deep down inside that his skills were limited so he tried to compensate for that with a lot of ideas and whims, like his self-made role as "Morale Officer", how he became almost obsessed with the idea of being an "investigating journalist", the Talaxian resort he created at the holodek (which Harry and Tom …
Is Neelix the Jar Jar Binks of Star Trek? - The Trek BBS
Feb 13, 2011 · While Jar-Jar was supposed only to be comical but ended up silly, Neelix had a well-constructed background story which explained his way of trying to be cheerful and helpful, even if he over-did it many times. My theory is that Neelix actually was a very tragic character, struck by the terrible loss of his family in the war.
Kes and Neelix's relationship and break up | The Trek BBS
Sep 11, 2015 · The Neelix/Kes breakup didn't bother me at all. The reason is that Kes clearly didn't want to be together with Neelix, and even if a proxy did it for her, it was done, and she kinda went along with the development and was happy not to speak to Neelix about that. Some awkward moments might have been nice.
Neelix's riddle answers - The Trek BBS

Data: Class L.can both cover planets such as the one Odo and Quark stranded on -quite livable, just without animal life-, up until those with barely breathable atmospheres such as the one captain Cusak stranded on. Neelix: eurmm... I don't know, just assume it's closer to the first one.
Neelix and his knowledge of the Vidiians | The Trek BBS
Feb 18, 2024 · Neelix hadn't been to the station and therefore didn't know of its exact location and Commander Bahrat. But Ubea where Wixiban was captured and sentenced to jail did seem to be not so far away from the station since Wixiban did seem to be trapped in that area of space and lacked what was necessary to get away from there.
Something I noticed about Neelix and Kes relationship.
Sep 16, 2019 · Neelix on the other hand found his skills rather limited and therefore did all he could to get attention, like "look at me, see what I can accomplish. His jealousy over Kes probably had something to do about being jealous of how good Kes did adapt to the new life and become an useful member of the crew while he did find himself limited.
Neelix...Why all the hate? - The Trek BBS
Mar 31, 2011 · This bugged me too, I don't dislike Neelix, but this bothered me, I could have handled it, if it suited what we first saw of the character, but the fact is, when we first saw him he was pretty unscrupulous, using Janeway and the crew in order to get Kes back, and screwing up the whole plan to negotiate with the Kazon.
