Sep 10, 2020 · The 2500/3000 spool size relationship is not exactly what it seems with Shimano. What determines casting distance (as long as you're talking about the same line and rod) is spool lip diameter, which is the same between the 2500 and 3000 size spools in the NASCI.

Oct 2, 2016 · i just live-chatted with TW. they said that, as far as the new NASCI reels are concerned, the 2500-size and 3000-size bodies are different now; the rep said that the 3000- and 4000-sizes now share the same bodies only differing in their spools and that the 2500 is on its own, smaller frame.

Dec 21, 2020 · The Revros comes in a shallow spool in the 2500 size, 110 yards of 8lb (I don't think it really even holds that much), and the CXH models of the Tatula. The deeper spool models I have, like the Eliminator, I just put backing on so it doesn't waste a bunch of line.

Apr 22, 2019 · The 3000 NASCI is a HG reel, whereas the 2500 is a 5.0:1. The 2500 and 3000 share the same frame, but the 3000 has a deeper spool (more line capacity) a paddle style knob on the reel handle. Ultimately, comes down to personal preference regarding gear ratio and handle as they weigh the exact same.

Oct 2, 2016 · I just stopped into my local Cabelas and the frame on the Nasci 3000 is the same size as the Stradic FK 3000. They did not have a 2500 Nasci for me to look at it but I would assume it would share the same frame as the 3000 just like the Stradic FK does.

Jun 19, 2020 · Do you prefer 2500 over 3000 or vise versa? My understanding is 3000 has a faster gear ratio, and also comes with a bigger - better? - handle which is pretty cool in my book. Thank you for your input in advance!

Jan 23, 2024 · The Sahara is the base reel, the Nasci has an extra bearing and water resistant seals, then Miravel is lighter and made from CI4. I fish freshwater 90% of the time so I went with the Sahara. If you want to see how tough they are you can check out MDLR's videos.

Mar 7, 2025 · Either pound test but 8 strand all the way - my three Miravel 2500s have 20#, 15# and 10# 832 on them - all based on what techniques I'm using them for.

Dec 22, 2016 · I am looking to upgrade my current spinning reel, abu Garcia orra s30, with either a shimano nasci 2500 or a Pflueger supreme xt 30. I will be pairing this reel with a fenwick hmg 6'9" medium light fast action spinning rod and possibly a fenwick elite tech 6'10" medium light extra fast spinning rod.
