Jun 9, 2023 · My left eye went dark over 2 months ago in the morning. It stayed black with thin shards of light for a few weeks and gradually light and faint colors came back in.

May 22, 2017 · I am taking resveratrol daily, based on the recommendation of an ophthalmologist who is a physician for a friend of my mother's. I have been doing acupuncture and Chinese herbs. The western medicine folks all say there is no treatment for NAION and hopefully I won't have an occurrence in my other eye. Thanks for your interest!

May 22, 2017 · Hello Weezy 1939....I was diagnosed with NAION last July...end of the month, 2018....in my left eye....I"ve lost central and to the inner eye vision, only seeing above, below and peripheral to the right....my problem is I'm very nearsighted in that eye so vision is limited, however I do have sight in my right eye and am very afraid it will happen in that eye as well.

May 22, 2017 · I have NAION in my left eye. A month ago, I had cataract surgery in my right eye - and all went well. I now understand my left (NAION) eye also has a cataract. I'm trying to decide if its worth risking the small amount of sight I have in that eye to do the surgery. Has anyone had cataract surgery on an eye where they suffered NAION?

Jul 27, 2023 · My 63 y.o. husband was diagnosed with NAION 2 days ago. He lost vision in right eye 1 1/2 years ago; NeuroOpthalmalogist told us there’s no treatment. Three weeks ago he lost partial vision in left eye. MRI shows no brain lesions, but he has had visual, auditory and tactile hallucinations over last two weeks.

My NAION happened in right eye in 2011 so until this past winter I lived with that. Many people live with one eye and most of the time I forgot that I had very limited eyesight in right eye. It's unusual I was told that it happens in both eyes and I hope that is the case for you.

Mar 15, 2024 · Does anyone have physical stress symptoms with recent NAION diagnosis? I am having sweats, mostly at night, but at times during the day. I am beyond Menopause . They seemed to have started shortly after diagnosis. Thyroid has been checked. When I am not sweating, I am colder than usual. I'm a mess. Eye is holding it's own.

Sep 14, 2023 · Thank you so much for responding~ I really appreciate it. I should mention my Creatinine was .095 (Normal) on Aug.24, and on Sept. 11 it was 1.05, a bit over average.

Jan 8, 2023 · Thanks for your comment. The thing I took away from that study was that inhalation of particulates from smoking or Vaping cannabis has similar bad effects to smoking cigarettes.
