Aug 30, 2010 · The red-lined rack handles are incredibly rare. I bet when NAD started this on their assembly line, they designed these handles as an option and made very few of them. They red highlights make it look real SNAZZY! I think NAD tries a bit too hard to sell their overly DULL, dollar per value image.

Apr 3, 2016 · The 1300 is a nice preamp and rated differently than the THX 2700. Note on the 2700 the response rating limits are +0 to -3db while the 1300 rating limits are +/-.3db for the audible spectrum. This is an apples & oranges thing and not a valid comparison. So the 1300 won't be limiting the performance of the 2700 IMHO.

Feb 13, 2012 · I am on the fence over the 3400 vs the 1300: the 3400 has a remote that would operate all my other NAD units as well (the 1300 does not) and would keep the system streamlined (combined amp and preamp) but on the other hand, I like the function set up of the 1300 more than the 3400 (the 1700 and 7600 are a little more similar the 1300).

Oct 26, 2020 · NAD 1300 Preamplifier SN#1482- General cleaning, service and diagnostic of the preamp. Cleaned all controls and switches to see if it was a cleaning issue. Preamp still has the same problem and audio has excessive distortion and quality loss. Capacitors are testing bad all throughout the preamp. This unit would need a full recap and restore.
