Functional astrocyte–neuron lactate shuttle in a human stem cell ...
NT2.D1-derived neurons (NT2.N) and astrocytes (NT2.A) were identified visually by their characteristic morphology. NT2.A cells were identified by their flat phase dark appearance, while NT2.Ns were typically phase bright and often observed on top of the astrocytic monolayer.
NT2 Derived Neuronal and Astrocytic Network Signalling
May 2, 2012 · We therefore investigated the functional properties of NT2 derived astrocytes and neurons using electrophysiological and calcium imaging approaches. NT2 neurons (NT2Ns) expressed sodium dependent action potentials, as well as responses to depolarisation and the neurotransmitter glutamate.
Our results show that NT2 derived astrocytes exhibit appropriate functionality and that NT2N networks interact with NT2A networks in co-culture. These findings underline the utility of such cultures to investigate human brain cell type signalling under controlled conditions.
Inducible expression of neuronal glutamate receptor channels in the NT2 …
Mar 3, 1993 · We report here that cells from the human teratocarcinoma line NT2 are induced by retinoic acid to express neuronal N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) and non-NMDA GluR channels concomitant with their terminal differentiation into neuron-like cells.
Enhanced Neurite Outgrowth of Human Model (NT2) Neurons by …
Feb 25, 2015 · Using human NT2 model neurons, we demonstrate that the pain reliever Ibuprofen decreases RhoA (Ras homolog gene family, member A GTPase) activation and promotes neurite growth. Inhibition of the downstream effector Rho kinase by the drug Y-27632 results in a strong increase in neurite outgrowth.
Narcolepsy type 1: what have we learned from genetics? - PMC
Type-1 narcolepsy is a severe neurological disorder with distinct characteristic of loss of hypocretin neurotransmitter. Genetic analysis in type-1 narcolepsy have revealed a unique signal pointing toward autoimmune, rather than psychiatric origin.
Exploring the clinical features of narcolepsy type 1 versus narcolepsy …
Jul 13, 2018 · In this data-driven study we use boosting to explore the predictive features of narcolepsy NT1 and NT2 from EU-NN database.
Characterization of the NT2-derived neuronal and astrocytic
NT2-derived neurons and astrocytes are reliable in vitro tools and a renewable cell source that can serve as a valid alternative to HFNs/HFAs for mechanistic studies of neurological diseases. Keywords: NT2; calcium imaging; human fetal neurons; neuronal cell …
Effects of neurotensin-2 receptor deletion on sensorimotor gating …
Oct 15, 2010 · The findings presented in this report suggest that activation of NT2 receptors regulates additional neural mechanisms underlying behaviors relevant to psychiatric disorders. In this respect, we have provided evidence for NT2 receptor regulation of baseline PPI, ASR, and locomotor activity.
Hypoxia-inducible transgene expression in differentiated human …
Sep 11, 2001 · NT2, a human neoplastic cell line which terminally differentiates into postmitotic neurons (NT2N) by treatment with retinoic acid was used in this study as a cell culture model for human neuronal...
