In the world of collegiate marching bands, the award winning Norfolk State University Spartan “Legion” located in Norfolk, VA, has made a name for itself as one of the premier Marching Bands in the country.

Our ‘SON’ Marching Band boasts well over 300 members annually. Membership in the “Spirit of Northwestern” is open to all students, regardless of major. Approximately 60% of the members are not music majors.

This past weekend, Norfolk State University was proudly represented at the first-ever Mister and Miss HBCU Conference and Competition in Charlotte, North Carolina! Mister Norfolk State University, Matthew Morse, and Miss Norfolk State University, Tori Paige, attended the event alongside representatives from 28 HBCUs across the nation.
