NGC 957 - open cluster in Perseus - IRIDA Observatory
NGC 957 is a little populated and poorly concentrated cluster in the constellation Perseus. Its distance is estimated at around 1815 parsec (5920 light years), and thus it falls on the internal edge of the Perseus Arm, in the same region where are the great system of nebulas IC 1805 and IC 1848, as well as the more prominent Double Cluster.
NGC 957 - Open Cluster in Perseus | TheSkyLive.com
NGC 957 is a Open Cluster in the Perseus constellation. NGC 957 is situated north of the celestial equator and, as such, it is more easily visible from the northern hemisphere. Given its visual magnitude of 7.6, NGC 957 is visible with the help of a binocular with a 40-50mm aperture or a small telescope.
NGC 957 and IC 351 in Perseus - webbdeepsky.com
The Spanish measurements place NGC 957 at a distance of 1,150 parsecs (about 3700 light-years) so well within the Perseus Arm of the Galaxy. This month’s nebula is a little planetary nebula, IC 351, still in Perseus.

Jul 12, 2024 · The Double Cluster (also known as Caldwell 14) consists of the open clusters NGC 869 and NGC 884 (often designated h Persei and χ (chi) Persei, respectively), which are close together in the constellation Perseus.
Three John Herschel clusters (NGC110, NGC743 & NGC957)
Jan 16, 2021 · The first, NGC 957 in Cassiopeia, was discovered by son John in 1831. It is a beautifully separated oval with two bright stars at the edge. One of these is the double star HJ 2143. The second, NGC 743 in Cassiopeia, is a striking triangle of relatively bright stars. Definitely worth a visit, even with a smaller instrument (than my 30 cm).

Optical and near-IR photometric study of the open cluster NGC …
Oct 8, 2008 · We present UBVRI CCD photometry in the region of the open clusters NGC 637 and NGC 957. The radii are found to be 4.2 arcmin and 4.3 arcmin. Their reddenings E (B-V) are 0.64+/-0.05 mag and 0.71+/-0.05 mag and their distances, from main sequence fitting are 2.5+/-0.2 kpc and 2.2+/-0.2 kpc.
