NGC 2467, nicknamed the "Skull and Crossbones Nebula", [3] is a star-forming region whose appearance has occasionally also been likened to that of a colorful mandrill. It includes areas where large clouds of hydrogen gas incubate new stars. [4]

Dec 17, 2023 · I'd like to present my latest image of the NGC 2467 (Skull & Crossbones) in Puppis. 28 hours of SHO exposures for the nebula + 2h in RGB for the stars. A fun fact; in the edge of the frame (outside these crops) there is a tiny galaxy PGC 22226 which to my surprise was very strong in the SII band but invisible in Ha and OIII.
