NGC 2167 is a Star in the Monoceros constellation. NGC 2167 is situated close to the celestial equator and, as such, it is at least partly visible from both hemispheres in certain times of the year. Given its visual magnitude of 6.58, NGC 2167 is visible with the help of a small binocular.

From Virginia Beach , NGC2167 is visible in the evening sky, becoming accessible around 18:38 (EST), 36° above your south-eastern horizon, as dusk fades to darkness. It will then reach its highest point in the sky at 20:57, 46° above your southern horizon.

Very close to the famous Cone nebula in the Constellation Monoceros lie several beautiful reflection nebula known as IC2169, IC2167, NGC 2245 and NGC 2247. IC 2169 is the blue reflection nebula on the lower left side of the image. IC 2167 is on the lower right side.

Skatalogował ją John Herschel 8 stycznia 1831 roku, lecz błędnie uznał, że jest to obiekt WH IV 44, który jego ojciec William zaobserwował 28 listopada 1786 roku [a] [3].
