Nov 25, 2022 · The North Field South (NFS) project is the planned second phase expansion of Qatar’s North Field, the world’s largest single non-associated gas field. The 16-metric tonnes per annum (mtpa) NFS Project, along with the first expansion phase North Field East (NFE) Project, will increase LNG production from the offshore North Field.

May 16, 2023 · It will include a large CO2 carbon capture and sequestration facility of 1.5 Mtpa, leading to 25% plus reduction of greenhouse gas emissions when compared to similar LNG facilities. The expansion project will produce approximately 16 Mtpa of additional LNG, increasing Qatar’s total production from 110 to 126 Mtpa.
