Sep 18, 2020 · N55 has a built in pcv valve that goes bad. If you have this noise or similar, remove oil cap while engine is on and noise is happening. If the noise goes away instantly once you remove the cap then the pcv valve is bad.

Question 2 - Pelican parts sells aftermarket PCV valves which can be installed into the original valve cover.

There have seen several articles concerning N55 PCV replacement using the Russian supplied PCV valve. All talk about cutting/sawing the old PCV valve from the valve cover. When this is done the dimensions for the PCV valve to valve cover are altered and the PCV system will not work as designed.
