Muciṟi (Malayalam: [muciṟi] , Tamil: [muchiri]), commonly anglicized as Muziris (Ancient Greek: Μουζιρίς, [2] Old Malayalam: Muciṟi or Muciṟipaṭṭaṇam[3] possibly identical with the medieval Muyiṟikkōṭŭ[4]) was an ancient harbour [5] and an urban centre on the Malabar Coast. [3] .

The Muziris Heritage Project is one of the biggest conservation projects in India, where the state and the central governments have come together, with support from the UNESCO, to conserve a rich culture that is 3000 years old or more.
