Jul 4, 2011 · Thinking about trying my hand at custom rod building and was wondering if any of you had any experience with the 2 day classes offered by Mud Hole? Looks like a pretty nice way to start learning, they have classes in various regions throughout the year; included in the $149 fee is a kit for a 6' 6" MF spinning rod.

Sep 28, 2012 · Mud hole has kits to build your own custom rods, sounds kinda neat but I don't know just how hard it will be and how much it will cost in the end. Just wondering if anyone has done this and if they are happy with the kits?

Feb 25, 2014 · The old Mud Bugs have zinc plated treble hooks the are weak, upgrading to VMC red or black nickel size 2 works good. If you remove the screw eye hook hanger, install heavy split rings, then super glue the screw eye back in and align them straight.

Sep 7, 2014 · There are a bunch of ways to temporarily attach guides while wrapping. I use either small bands cut from surgical tubing, small rubber hair tie rings or elastic thread from the sewing aisle depending on the situation.
