A Municipal Utility District (MUD) is a political subdivision of the state that's authorized by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to provide water, sewage, drainage, and other services within its boundaries.

Feb 18, 2025 · Martinek has been leading the charge against the proposed MUD on Shankle Road, near his home east of Palmer. According to county records, the Shankle MUD would include 811 homes on 181 acres. Martinek was optimistic the MUD would never come to fruition after TCEQ denied the MUD creation in November.
