Nov 9, 2022 · Mu Qing is the best character in TGCF and I will die on this hill. He was belittled, insulted, prejudiced against and still he did the best he could in his situation. He cares for his friends despite everything and works so hard without anybody acknowledging it.

Jan 6, 2022 · The fandom and the novels often tend to have a narrative that very heavily shuns Mu Qing and dismisses his trauma by calling him petty, while not realizing that Xie Lian was also very much responsible for the decay in their relationship. I think people dislike Mu Qing because it comes into conflict with how we view Xie Lian as a character.

Sep 20, 2021 · I think Mu Qing is a pretty complex character, and while I don't think I'd enjoy him as a person, I think his dynamic with XL is really great, because I think he's somewhat of an antithesis to XL.

Both Xie Lian and Feng Xin, highly idealist characters, are deeply scarred and horrified by this choice- rejecting future assistance from Mu Qing out of their sheer repulsion to Mu Qing’s decision.

Xie Lian who is always helping others regardless of his circumstances because of his strong idealogy/ naivety and Mu Qing who is being pragmatic and human.

Oct 4, 2023 · This was once one of Mu Qing's closest person, who suffered through so much loss and humiliation. 800+ of loneliness and pain. Mu Qing reads so much harsher to me because despite Xie Lian changing so much during his time, repenting for his mistake and owning up to his faults, Mu Qing does not change.
