Dec 6, 2024 · $2500-$3500 for an MP40 kit is fair. Pricing kits is interesting though. My rebuillds, all bfongs (indianpolis ordnance style) or semi-automatic only conversions are all mixed numbers and even have some reproduction parts mixed.

Jun 10, 2020 · I use 1 mp40 and 1 mo10 on one side of my 120 gal tank and gyre 350 on the other side, on my mp pumps I run then at 80 percent reef crest from 6 am to 9 pm, then at 40 percent constant the rest of the time to allow my sps to catch food.

Apr 3, 2021 · Mp40 all the way. I agree. I put 2 mp40's on my 40 gallon frag tank and they worked great. I initially was only going to do sps in the frag tank but it turned into something else as sps took a while to start growing in there. So I starred with lps. I ran the mp40s with mostly LPS and sps at the top on racks. Worked great at low speeds. No noise.

Nov 30, 2023 · Same with the MP38 & MP40 Haenel patent double stack, single feed magazine design. A double stack, double feed magazine would probably have worked better and been less prone to jamming. In 1942 the Germans introduced measures to improve magazine reliability.

Mar 12, 2021 · Each MP40 was originally built up by a single well trained assembler. I don't know about late war MP40s, but those made early in the war are quality efforts. Fit and function are excellent, even with the extensive use of steel stampings to lower cost and speed production. Parts and tube guns just are not the same.

Feb 12, 2025 · Apparently all MP40 hook type bolt handles were to be replaced with the sliding safety version. Mine was. Some I've seen have the little red paint "fire" dot while others seem to lack it. Some earlier guns escaped the modification. Two methods of attachment are observed for the handle. They're either staked or welded in with the weld blob dressed.

Jan 23, 2025 · The MP40 was a complicated multi-layered "old estate" situation where gun was registered to the 1968 Amnesty registrant (the WWII vet who brought it back) so a bunch of estate paperwork, affidavits, materials re: relevant state laws of intestate succession, etc. was submitted.
