Oct 17, 2007 · One of his Rabbeim in his yeshiva in Israel recommended that he go to Geulah and get a picture of the rabbi who chases away mice, Rabbi Yeshayaleh. Dutifully, he got the picture, which was to act as a segulah to keep away mice, and put it up on the wall. However, the mice did not go away, but rather stayed.

Yeshaya Steiner (Yiddish: ישעיה שטיינער; known as Reb Shaya'la of Kerestir (Kerestirer); Yiddish: ר' ישעיה'לה קערעסטירער‏) (1851 – 27 April 1925), was a Rebbe in the town of Bodrogkeresztúr (Kerestir) near Miskolc in Hungary.

It is said that hanging a picture of Reb Yeshaya'le Kerestierer, a Hungarian Chassidic rebbe, is a charm for getting rid of mice. In fact he is informally known as the Mouse Rabbi. His entire file had been gnawed to dust by a mouse. The execution was nullified.
