Motovun (Croatian pronunciation: [mɔtɔ̌ʋuːn], Italian: Montona [4] or Montona d'Istria) is a village and a municipality in central Istria, Croatia. In ancient times, both Celts and Illyrians built their fortresses at the location of present-day Motovun.
