Founded by Sr. Rene Procopio and the Felician Sisters more than 20 years ago, Mooncrest Neighborhood Programs began as an after-school program for Mooncrest children and now offers a variety of vital supports for children and families in the area.

Mooncrest Neighborhood Programs provides children with enriching after-school and summer camp programs, which offer academic support in reading, math, STEM, STEAM, as well as outdoor play, organized sports and community gardening.

The After-School Program is open to students in grades K-5, who live in the Mooncrest community. The After-School Program provides a safe, comfortable, supportive, faith-based environment where students learn, grow and challenge themselves to be their best self.

At Mooncrest Neighborhood Programs (MNP), it was both a joyous and contemplative experience. Students in the after-school program began the week with a presentation about the national Smoky the Bear and Woodsy Owl poster contest by Bonnie Keen of the Moon Garden Club.

Mooncrest Neighborhood Programs collaborates with 412 Food Rescue, the West Hills and Coraopolis food pantries, the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, and several local churches to provide access to food for individuals and families.

From the dedicated team who daily engages with program participants to the members of the Advisory Board, who volunteer their time to forward the mission, all energies are focused on those whom we serve and on the revitalization of the Mooncrest community.
