Oct 14, 2022 · One strategy that can be ruled out is using the seatbelts as tie-downs. When the middle seat in the Model Y is folded down it effectively blocks the seat's buckle receiver (see photo).

Oct 14, 2022 · Just writing back to post a reference of my ski transport arrangement for my family of 4. Note that the boot bags are not yet in the car in this picture, but they fairly easily fit two on each side. I don't normally tie the bags down as the ski bag is pretty well wedged in.

Mar 15, 2021 · Took our Model Y LR up to June Lake, CA for a ski trip. Got to test out the Ski Hitch system and Konig tire chains that Tesla sells. I am happy to say the chains did not damage the induction wheels.

Feb 4, 2019 · Every other car I have had has had a ski pass through. I don't ski, but do carry lumber regularly (usually in my truck though). I am temped to do I1Tesla's mod, but the car is still too new. Maybe some aftermarket parts supplier will come up with a trim kit for this (hint - hint).

Oct 14, 2023 · Does anyone have experience with carrying skis on top of their Y? Are you able to still open the back hatch? I am not too concerned about range loss, ( I only live 10 miles from skiing) and don’t like having wet skis in the car.

Aug 2, 2023 · Anyone else afraid to mount a ski rack on their model Y for fear that you’ll hit skis in glass top and break it when mounting/unmounting? It’s possible sure. Slippy hands, tired after a day on the mountain, absent minded accident or whatever. If you’re really concerned theres a slide off rack system by Thule that would allay those fears.
