Dec 19, 2019 · Modes 3/A and C are very similar, but the interrogation pulses are timed differently and the responses mean different things. If you send a mode 3/A pulse, you get a mode 3/A reply (or nothing). The response is a 12-bit number called the squawk code, which is conventionally written as four octal digits, plus an optional ident bit.

Sep 13, 2015 · Sticking with mode 3 will make your life a lot harder in terms of buying gear, reading instrucitons, asking for help an so on. PS: If you really insist on flying mode-3 you could just get a mode-2 transmitter, reverse all the channels and hold the transmitter upside down.

Mar 13, 2025 · It's unlikely that this changed by accident, but it could also be the problem. Go to Forward Programming > Gyro Settings > System Setup > Utilities and make sure that "Enabled F-Modes" says "F MODE 3". If it only says "F MODE 2", then it's limited to two flight modes.
