Mitski has had a lot of trauma in her life based on her earlier music and this zine she participated in in 2014. Honestly if you knew the things she has been through, you wouldn't be wishing more trauma for her or implying anything of the sort.

Jun 4, 2021 · Been listening to alot of Mitski lol, I wanted to interpret her song "Pink in the Night" from Be the Cowboy. "I glow pink in the night in my room" - Pink is usually connected to feminine energy. She is in her room ascending essentially. The orchestration behind Mitski's voice supports this. Shes alone.

Mar 31, 2024 · It may not have been a project for a grade. It’s common for fine arts (music, visual arts, creative writing, film, etc.) students to work on a portfolio while they’re in college, not for a grade but just to show off their skills to future employers, for grad school admissions, etc.

Even if she were a straight woman, Mitski would still be a queer icon simply because her music and lyrics resonate strongly with a lot of the queer community and are popular among the community. Reply reply

I’ve actually really enjoyed her sound but prefer the songs that sound like the music I usually listen to, being this hardcore punk/pop-punk, 90s grunge, alt rock mix. So far a song I’ve really really liked was brand new city. Also think townie scratches that itch too.
