Mar 9, 2012 · Does anyone know if Mint 12 LXDE has the standard Mint sound preference menu (with input & output tabs), or just a standard up/down volume like on Lubuntu? I have USB headphones with a mic that wouldn’t work in LXDE under Lubuntu.

Feb 14, 2011 · Mint LXDE is looking promising, but at this time I have to vote for LUBUNTU for netbooks. I am sure Mint will catch up in near future. If you want a really light distro for netbooks, try PUPPEEE.

Jul 15, 2017 · If you have a very old machine the LXDE DE can make a real difference in the speed and responsiveness. The LXDE DE can be added to any 18.2 Linux Mint Ubuntu based distro. Probably the rolling Debian distro as well, but I have not tested it yet.

Mar 16, 2011 · I installed Mint 10 Lxde on my netbook. I am super happy! I used to run Ubuntu 10.10 Netbook remix, but since it was incredibly slow, I had to find a better alternative. Lxde is just perfect. Thanks! (btw: I have the mint 10 64-bit-version on my desktop: great product!)
