The only twin-cam T-series MG engine that has run with any degree of success is one currently owned by Don Martine in California. This engine has a murky past but may have been designed and built by Ken Miles for the use in RII, one of his West Coast MG specials in the mid-fifties.

And for the 50th Anniversary - well over 100 racing MGs are expected this September at Watkins Glen- which will now require two separate Collier Cup races. One will have the older Pre-War and T-series MG's, and the other will have the newer A's, B's, C's, and Midgets.

143 racing MGs showed up at Watkins Glen for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the "Collier Memorial Trophy Race" - to compete in the Sports Car Vintage Racing Association's (SVRA) "Collier Cup" all MG races, as part of their "Zippo Vintage Grand Prix" race weekend.

The top MG driver was Don Munoz, who had home-track advantage (he used to hold the SCCA E/P lap record here). He won Class B. Gary Harrison won Class A and was the top MGA, and Bill Hollingsworth was the fastest T-series and Class C winner.

The Collier brothers - Sam, Miles, and Barron - made MG racing history in the US from the 1930s to the 1950s as some of the first MG racers in the US, as sports car racing took root. Sam died in a car crash in 1950 and Miles died from Polio in 1954.
