The FAL (French: Fusil Automatique Léger, English: Light Automatic Rifle) is a battle rifle designed in Belgium by Dieudonné Saive and manufactured by FN Herstal and others since 1953. During the Cold War the FAL was adopted by many countries of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), with the notable exception of the United States.

Oct 5, 2011 · Mexico adopted the FAL in '68, and it should be embossed with the Mexican Naval Crest on the right side of the magazine well. The grenade launcher is in all likelihood bred from Mexican Mil request and done south of the border.

Nov 13, 2014 · Has anyone ever seen a photo of a Mexican soldier/policeman armed with an FN-FAL. I read that they adopted them in 1968 but have never seen any photo evidence.

Mar 22, 2018 · As for the FAL, Mexico adopted them alongside the G-3 for the military, but they were always a minority of rifle acquisitions, although their numbers were still significant. They remain in inventory and use by the military, and some have been handed down to the police.

An indigenous programmable air-burst grenade launcher is currently under development for the FX-05, which will be able to fire standard NATO munitions in addition to Mexico's new RSE-7 fuel-air grenade round.

Dec 27, 2017 · I finally completed a FAL build using one of DSA's overrun, Mexican upper receiver, marked, SDN MEXICO DF on a Kaiserworks lower, and 17" barrel. Luckily, outside of receiver being undertimed, I did not have any out of spec problems like others were having with locking shoulder holes, mag fit, etc. Used .264 locking shoulder.
