Jun 3, 2009 · H414 is too slow for a 150gn bullet to build sufficient pressure fast enough to expand the case and seal the chamber. Switch to something in the range of H335 or H4895 and I think your problem will go away.

Nov 2, 2013 · Anyone know what is causing these dents? If I put a full mag in and fire off a round then pull the mag, the top shell will have this dent. The lead bullet has no marks on it so whatever is doing this is not affecting the bullet. I did notice the 10 round mags have a plastic tit on the back of them and the 25 round mags have a metal one.

It might have happened when you put the mag in and the first round gets dented. There is a piece of metal that sheers off every new round in the mag after the casing has left the ejection port. If you slam full mags in really hard, they can hit that piece of metal and become slightly deformed.

Jul 10, 2004 · You might try annealing the cases. Excessive case lube could also be the culprit. I used to neck down .338 Win mag cases to .308 Norma mag. If the dents weren't too excessive, I would let them fireform in my chamber. Sometimes they were so bad, I just threw them away.
