Jun 4, 2022 · Mestinon inhibits the enzyme asethylcholinesterase, that's pretty much all it does. It does not reach the brain and has a relatively short half-life of 3-4 hours. I don't see why it would take several months to notice the effect unless we are talking about some hypothetical long-term adaptations of the body from increased acethylcholine activity.

Aug 2, 2024 · When I started mestinon, I was on a dose of 30 mg 3 times a day for a whole month. Then my doctor increased the dose to 60 mg 3 times a day (although some other people here on the forum have had their doses increased much more slowly).

Aug 2, 2024 · Seriously - I am going to try it before I give mestinon a go. Some of the above posters talked about mestinon giving them a (sometimes slight) energy boost, which was my biggest draw. My worst problem has to do with a relatively small energy envelope - if I overdo it (roughly 4 hours of light activity) I crash like clockwork the next day.
