Meesha Shafi (Urdu: میشا شفیع) is a Pakistani-born Canadian [1] singer, actress and model. [2] She made her film debut with a supporting role in the 2013 Mira Nair 's film, The Reluctant Fundamentalist.

Waar is primarily an English language film with some dialogue in Urdu. According to the producer, Hassan Waqas Rana, it was considered dubbing the movie in Urdu but the idea was dropped as it would have compromised the lead role played by Shaan Shahid.

Meesha played the role of Perizaad, a swimmer who was romantically attracted towards Farhan Akhtar, one who played the character of Singh. The character of Laxmi, a spy for the Indian intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), for the film, Waar, bagged her the ‘Best Supporting Actress’ award at ARY Film Awards function, 2014.
