Feb 26, 2020 · MEV is designed for multiple docking and undockings and can deliver over 15 years of life extension services. The company is scheduled to launch its second Mission Extension Vehicle, MEV-2, later this year, which is contracted to provide service to a different Intelsat satellite.

The Mission Extension Vehicle (MEV) [1] is a spacecraft that extends the functional lifetime of another spacecraft through on-orbit satellite servicing. They are 2010s-design small-scale in-space satellite-refueling spacecraft first launched in 2019.

For heavy ions, the DUT was irradiated with ions with linear energy transfers (LETs) ranging from 0.59 to 120 MeV•cm2/mg, with fluences from 1x105 to 1x107 particles/cm2. Fluxes ranged from 1x102 to 1x105 particles/cm2 per second, depending on the device sensitivity.

As a young graduate student, Dr. McLean displayed the inventive design and engineering abilities that would characterize his career. He designed and built a half-million volt Van de Graff generator as a pilot project for a larger, one-Mev generator later built at Kellogg.
