Approaching Papohaku beach, heading west toward the beaches, one comes upon a pink boarded-up building just around the bend. Next to it is a promenade with a once-neatly-manicured trail, past now-rusting water fountain and weed-covered swimming pool, and several small pastel-colored bungalows.
