Aug 8, 2023 · We help the starving and neglected cats of Maui by getting them fixed and keeping them fed. Save Maui Cats is a volunteer based, non-profit rescue, dedicated to the island's homeless, hungry and forgotten cats.

This group was created in 2019 to help people help cats on the island of Maui. The mission: “Community cat” is the term for a free roaming stray or unsocialized cat who lives outside, either on its own or in a managed, TNR (trap neuter return) colony with a caretaker.

Maui Cat Rescue, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is dedicated to facilitating the adoption of homeless cats on Maui, limiting overpopulation, and providing high-level care. Our cat lounge offers a cozy space for guests to relax, interact with cats, and potentially adopt.

Cats are one of the predators that were introduced by humans to the Hawaiian Islands. The State of Hawai’i Department of Health estimates that there are 500,000 cats on the island of Maui. Thousands of these are feral, non-domesticated animals left to hunt and capture prey in the wild.
