only search Mark Langford's Corvair Site I had previously planned to use a VW Type 4 for my KR2S, but heard a forum given by William Wynne on the Corvair engine at Sun N Fun in 1999. He was preaching the Corvair gospel, and it made perfect sense to me.

N56ML Performance. created April 12, 2006, updated Sept 2009 with more info on data collection using the EIS. I'm constantly evaluating the performance of my airplane, so I can speak intelligently about the effect of various modifications that I've made throughout it's evolution (wing tips, gap seals, gear leg fairings, etc).

Final Engine Testing. created May 5, 2005 I now have 10 hours on the engine, all on the ground, since the airplane hasn't flown yet. But I finally feel like this engine is ready to fly behind!

Wing Tank Construction . originally written December, 1996, updated July, 2004 I should mention that the RR plans call for wing tanks to be mounted in the outer wings, rather than the stub wings.

June 12, 2004. Last night I got everything ready to run, and thought I'd give the engine a try. I'd already set the timing statically (I'll never understand why some folks would rather goof around with the distributor while the engine's backfiring, looking for something close to correct timing), so it was within a degree or two of optimal already.
