Mark Alan Kelso (born July 23, 1963) is an American former professional football player who was a safety for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL). He appeared in four consecutive Super Bowls with the Bills from 1990 to 1993, and served as the color commentator for the Buffalo Bills Radio Network from 2006 until 2019.

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, former safety Mark Kelso was known for being an integral part of the Buffalo Bills AFC Championship teams – and for wearing a helmet that people teased him about saying that it made him look like The Great Gazoo, the Martian character featured in the Flintstones television cartoon series.

As a band member, Kelso has received four Juno Awards and has been nominated twice as a band leader with The Jazz Exiles (2016) [1] and The Mark Kelso Project: Chronicles of Fezziwig (2020). [2] [3]

Along the way, he and his Bills achieved something that may never be matched by any team in the National Football League.

Safety Mark Kelso played eight seasons with the Buffalo Bills from 1986-1993. He wore this helmet toward the end of his career. The extra shell on top was created to offer better protection for his head. He autographed the helmet and gave it to his teammate and Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly.
