Dec 30, 2020 · I was making two API requests to Mapbox. The first just used coordinates and returned the encoded polyline. The second used the coordinates and the polyline from the first API to return a map with a route. Unfortunately, as riastrad pointed out below, that polyline contains special characters that was screwing up the URL.

For displaying a map, adding markers, flyTo location and etc I am using Mapbox GL. I was using cURL implementation of Mapbox API to get driving directions and then draw a line on a map. So as an example of a cURL call I recieve a list of coordinates which represent my directions. The Problem comes when I try to connect these points on a map.

We identified the following steps to be able to solve our problem using MapBox: Decode the route coordinates to the minimal set of map tiles. Query the map tiles using MapBox API.
