Magach (Hebrew: מגח, Hebrew pronunciation: [mə'gæχ], "battering-ram") is the designation of a series of tanks in Israeli service. The tanks are based on the American M48 and M60 tanks. The name continued to be used for all M48/M60 tanks. Magach 1, 2, 3, and 5 are based on M48 series tanks, and Magach 6 and 7 are based on M60 series tanks.

As Israel upgraded its relatively old fleet of M60 tanks, one of its many upgrades was the Magach 6C based on the M60A3, one of the latest variants of the M60 family.

Magach 6 Gimel (AKA 6C) The identification of this vehicle is fairly simple, as it is the only one to use the M68E1 105 mm gun and its distinctive American thermal sleeve. There are differences from other variants that may look similar (like Magach 6B) like the rangefinder.

The Magach 6 was the Israeli designation for the M60 tanks, while more advanced variants like the M60A1 were called Magach 6A. The Magach 6 was acquired as a response to new Soviet made threats like the T-62 and it's powerful 115mm cannons.
