Jul 31, 2023 · I appreciate Madden for being a game that has marginally improved in the past 8 years. This weekend I played Madden 23 on the PS5 and it felt identical to Madden 21 on the PS4 (last one I played.) To say that you’ve not missed anything in the past 2 years is not an exaggeration. Lmao this is not true! There’s no way that they have player likeness for hardly any of the players. Madden only has 32 teams and they have a plethora of generic like players. That’s just an excuse for EA to use because they can’t figure out how to get the draft classes to work or transfer over properly. It’s was buggy in 14.

Maybe they’ll go with a bit of a throwback name and call it Madden 2025. Madden 2005 was the last title to have the full year in the name so maybe they could do a early 2000s theme on the cover and for a two decade anniversary just go back to the basics for a chance of pace.

The original license ran from Madden 06 to Madden 10. But the exclusivity deal has been very profitable for the NFL and EA, so they have renewed the deal multiple times. The details of the renewals are not necessarily public, so we don't know when the current deal ends.
