The MXS-R is a race variant flown by several pilots in the Red Bull Air Race World Championship. The planes are all-composite in construction, piston-powered, low-wing monoplanes.

This aircraft is an MXS-R competition aerobatic aircraft. The MXS-R is a single seat, low wing aircraft constructed almost entirely from carbon fiber. The aircraft is powered by an IO-540 experimental Lycoming engine producing just under 400 HP.
