In Montana, pike are native only to several miles of the St. Mary River northeast of Glacier National Park in the South Saskatchewan River drainage. Though FWP stocked pike in some eastern Montana waters several decades ago, the agency has long since discontinued the prac-tice and denounces illegal plantings.
