🪶 The 2025 Hagen Show will be staged at Kagamuga showground, Mount Hagen town in the Western Highlands Province – August 16th to 17th. The Hagen Show is an exciting ‘singsing‘ involving cultural groups from across the Western Highlands and other parts of the country perform traditional dances, ritual performances and feasting.

Held annually in the town of Mount Hagen, this festival showcases the diverse traditional practices, costumes, and performances of the various ethnic groups across the highlands.

Mount Hagen hosts the hugely popular Mount Hagen Show in August of each year. The Mount Hagen Show is a well-attended sing-sing in which many different tribes of Papua New Guinea gather to share the traditions of their own distinct cultures, by means of music and dance” -(international journey).

Incredibly impressive spectacles, the Mt. Hagen celebrations feature participation from numerous indigenous groups. In the isolated mountains of Papua New Guinea, it can be difficult to reach, but the journey will be well worth it in the end. Go Early!

Each August, tribes from all over the Western Highlands Province in Papua New Guinea and neighboring provinces of the Highlands region gather in Hagen for exciting cultural performances (or singsings). These include traditional dancing, singing and rituals.

We were established in 1976 in the highlands city of Mount Hagen. From humble beginnings operating four-wheel drive adventure trips around the PNG Highlands, we slowly moved into more 'mainstream' tourism with the addition of several wilderness lodges to our portfolio.

We’ll kick off the tour in Port Moresby – PNG’s seaside capital city before flying into Mount Hagan and the Central Highlands. Here we’ll visit local villages and schools and take part in a traditional mumu feast! Then comes the trip highlight – 2 full days at the Mount Hagen festival.
