Review of the MSR XGK EX military multi fuel stove
Dec 2, 2017 · The Whisperlite stove had some flame adjustment on the first generation model but that has changed to where they almost operate like an XGK, just quieter. The real beauty of any MSR stove is the availability of parts to repair and replace, even …
Let’s talk MSR - Bushcraft USA Forums
Oct 18, 2017 · I have owned a MSR stove since the first Model 9 was made by Larry Penbarthy, founder of MSR. If I were recommending one MSR stove for backpacking that is relatively light, reliable and easy to use, it would be the Whisperlight. Quiet, burns hot, easy to use and reliable.
Titanium Pot Comparison: MSR Titan, Snow Peak Trek 700, Toaks …
Jun 26, 2020 · Whereas the lid of the Toaks is very similar to the MSR: The MSR is much beefier in every way, but the Toaks actually has a deeper slide for the loop. Once put in in the up position, this makes it more difficult to accidentally knock back down. I like this feature on the MSR. I like its execution on the Toaks even better.
MSR Whisperlite Universal - a Quck Review - Bushcraft USA Forums
Nov 3, 2012 · The MSR Windpro II is an excellent lightweight iso-butane only stove and the leg design makes it a bit more stable when used with smaller pots. Next, the Whisperlite has a problem accommodating smaller pots; the three-legged design is really not that stable.
Stove-Coleman vs MSR Pocket Rocket - Bushcraft USA Forums
Oct 4, 2010 · Decision time. I've used an MSR SimmerLite and/or an alcohol stove for years. The Simmerlite is awesome, but bulky. The alcohol stove is very light but I can only use it to boil water (yeah, i know it can bake and simmer with enough fiddling.) Considering a propane stove as a 'can do it both' stove.

Jun 28, 2012 · I recent got this MSR stove at the Amazon Warehouse deals, I went to Gander Mtn and got one of the large MSR fuel canisters. A couple days later I saw a Coleman canister at Walmart that looks exactly the same. Has anyone used these on your MSR stove? I know the MSR instructions say to only...
MSR XGK EX - JP8 (Military) Stove | Bushcraft USA Forums
Nov 18, 2014 · My first MSR stove was the Model 9 back in about 1974 or so. Great stoves. The XGK is the latest version that evolved from the Model 9. No idea why they were called model 9, it was the first stove that MSR made. The original idea was a reliable, hot burning stove for melting snow and ice for mountaineering.
MSR Whisperlite Stove Ring Recommendation? - Bushcraft USA …
Oct 8, 2012 · I recently got an MSR Whisperlite and actually like it quite a bit. In fact, it has supplanted my Svea 123. It's just a lighter, more versatile stove. One shortcoming, however, is that the pot supports are too widely spaced (and too few) to …
Msr whiperlight int. And dragonfly vs canister stoves
Jul 1, 2015 · The first backpacking stove I bought was an MSR Dragonfly. Best there is for backcountry gourmet as it has excellent heat control, but it's heavy and when you light it up the sound replaces the peaceful sounds of nature... it's a loud stove! And heavy. Whisperlite suited my purposes better for a liquid fuel MSR stove.
Speaking of the MSR Whisperlite....- UPDATE - Bushcraft USA Forums
Jan 5, 2021 · Most (if not all) MSR Whisperlites can be made whole again with a new pump unit. Mine is somewhere between 25 and 30 years old and runs like new with the updated pump. The white gas fuel eventually will weaken the plastic parts of the old unit much like an old plastic gas can. A new pump will last at least that much longer.
