manufacturing - What components have a MSL of 5 and 6?
Dec 19, 2017 · The industry-standard JEDEC MSL values imply a component's "floor life" (time spent in storage bin before being mounted on a PCB) at a specified temperature and relative humidity, as well as standard and accelerated soak requirements; i.e. how long to bake at what temperature and what relative humidity, so that the part can be safely mounted in a reflow oven.
ICs with humidity or moisture sensitivity - bake recommendations
Higher numbers indicate higher sensitivity, with MSL 6 parts always requiring a bake before use. Most parts that I've seen are MSL 5/5a, in which a 48-24 hour exposure period before requiring a bake. Best practices would be to open the part bag on a moisture sensitive part just before assembly; and then reseal the bag after the part is removed.

MSL 1 – Unlimited where the times listed are the component "floor life out of the bag." If a component is moisture sensitive, it will come in a labelled, airtight anti-static bag, with a moisture indicator strip and desiccant.

Apr 23, 2015 · A modern Intel NIC can have 3 or 5 MSI-X vectors assigned: one global, one for the TX queue, one for the RX queue, god knows what the others are for. Note that the traditional Local APIC in the CPU only had 255 IRQ service vector slots, which might already present a bottleneck on a busy high-end server machine.
What are the advantages of CPW over microstrip?
Aug 23, 2016 · For comparison, for the same board, you could get close to 50-Ohm using a 40-mil wide trace with a 5-mil gap to the coplanar ground planes. These numbers are only estimates. Make sure you do the calculations. CPW geometries can be tricky to calculate.

Jan 16, 2018 · Use flux remover and remove any residues that may be left on the board. Check components' leads for any damage or corrosion. Any damaged parts will need to be replaced. Check the datasheets for all parts: any parts that are MSL (Moisture Sensitivity Level) level 3 will need to be replaced. Odds are the battery has shorted and will need to be ...
