MS Oranje, later known as Angelina Lauro, was a Dutch passenger liner, a wartime hospital ship, and finally a cruise ship. The ship underwent 25 years' service as Oranje, and fifteen as Angelina Lauro. She was a cruise ship for the last seven years of her career.

The Oranje accommodated 283 passengers in a luxurious First Class, 283 in an excellent Second Class and just 95 in a good Third Class as well as 52 in a humble Fourth Class. MS Oranje was finally ready, having been fully completed, and on June 27, 19 39 she was handed over to the Netherland Line.

Jun 16, 2023 · The Dutch war ship Hr Ms Tromp fired 101 salutes. HRH queen Wilhelmina named her Oranje , naming her coincided with the anniversary of her 40 year reign of the Netherlands. The new Netherlands Line flagship was named after the Dutch Royal House of Orange.

Angelina Lauro was a popular cruise ship in the Caribbean until 30 March 1979 when tragedy struck. It suffered a devastating fire (eyewitness account) whilst on a cruise and berthed at Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands.
